Luke & Victoria's Wedding

How do I RSVP?

You can RSVP by submitting the form on our website. RSVPs are due by May 10th. If you have already submitted an RSVP but need to change it, please contact Luke or Victoria directly.

Who has to provide proof of vaccination? What about a COVID test?

All guests aged 12+ must provide proof of vaccination. All guests aged 2+ must provide a negative COVID test.

Please see the COVID page for more information about acceptable tests and deadlines.

Where can I stay in Indianapolis?

See Accommodation Options. We have set up several slightly discounted hotel blocks for guests in Indianapolis. These are first come, first served. There are of course many other hotels near the reception venue, and AirBnB and Vrbo also operate in the city.

Although the blocks are only reserved for June 9-11 (Thursday-Saturday), the hotels may extend the discounted rate to additional days before or after, subject to availability. Reach out to the hotels directly to enquire.

What airports are nearby?

The closest airport is the Indianapolis International Airport (IND). This will be the most convenient choice for domestic and some Canadian flights, but for other international flights we recommend routing through Chicago O'Hare (ORD).

Check out our Travel page for more travel, accommodation, and sightseeing information!

What should I wear to the wedding?

We request formal attire for both the ceremony and reception — this is a step up from semi-formal/cocktail, but not as fancy as black tie or black-tie optional. Dark suits with ties, dressier cocktail/midi/floor-length dresses, elegant separates, and snazzy jumpsuits will all work. You do not need an evening gown or a tuxedo!

Please remember that part of the day will take place in a church where very short or low-cut outfits are not appropriate. If you plan to wear a strapless outfit, we recommend bringing a shawl or jacket to wear during the ceremony.

What will the weather be like?

It should be warm (high of 80°F/27°C), sunny, and humid. There is a 35% chance of rain. If it does rain, short afternoon or evening thunderstorms are most likely, although an all-day drizzle is not impossible!

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

All indoors, and all with air conditioning!

Where can we park for the ceremony?

There is a large lot at the church and parking is free.

When should we arrive for the ceremony?

The church will be open to guests from 3:30pm, and the service will start promptly at 4:15pm.

How long will the ceremony be? What does a Catholic wedding involve?

Because only Victoria is Catholic, it will be a celebration, not a mass. Celebrations are shorter and do not include all the components of a mass. The ceremony should last approximately 35 minutes.

There will be three readings from the Bible, several prayers and blessings, hymns, and the confirmation of marriage. A priest will perform the ceremony. Everyone is welcome to participate in prayers and songs or to watch quietly.

When does the reception start and end?

The reception starts at 5:30pm, with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres served until dinner at 7pm. The reception will end at 11pm.

How long is the drive between the ceremony and reception venues?

The drive is approximately 25 minutes. If you'll be driving yourself, we recommend adding 5-15 minutes to park.

Where can we park for the reception?

There are several public parking garages within a few blocks of the reception venue. Maps, fees, and hours can be found here. Please note that major events happening downtown can affect garage availability and rates.

Street parking is also available throughout Indianapolis, including on West Washington Street. Note that these spots are metered and often have short time limits.

If you are staying downtown, consider returning your car to the hotel lot after the ceremony and walking or taking a cab to the reception to avoid duplicate parking fees.

Are you registered somewhere? Where should we bring cards/gifts?

Please see the Registry page.

Do I need to take another COVID test before attending brunch?

While we will not require a second covid test to attend brunch on Saturday, you are encouraged to take another if you have access to one.

What should I wear to brunch?

We suggest smart and summery — sundresses, polos, khakis, etc. Brunch will be mostly outdoors (weather permitting) and on uneven pavement and grass, so choose your outfits and footwear accordingly!

Is there public transportation in Indianapolis?

Indianapolis does not have a robust public transport network. Taxis, private cars, or on foot will be the best way to get around. Fortunately, the city center is quite compact and many major attractions, hotels, and restaurants are within walking distance of each other. However, a private car will be the easiest way by far to travel between wedding events. We encourage those who can drive to consider renting a car, or to plan to carpool with friends or relatives.

What about taxis?

Traditional cabs, Uber, and Lyft all operate in Indianapolis. Uber and Lyft are the best way to reach the ceremony venue in the suburbs, where traditional cabs may not go.

Although it should be easy to get a cab from Indianapolis hotels to the ceremony venue, it may be more difficult to get a cab back to the city for the reception. Guests are encouraged to share rides or make other arrangements in advance.
